@resuscitate asked the @musing community what our personal definition of 'marriage' is but I personally agree with the definition found in Google's Dictionary:

• the legally or formally recognized union of two people as partners in a personal relationship

But I didn't get married only to have the State and public recognize us, I got married to also publically state to the world and myself that I was making a lifelong commitment to @emaferice.
